Any particular reason the install has mushroomed from 350 meg to 650meg ?

I noticed the onshape link , but I don't want that .... rather that was a seperate download to be honest. Regardless thanks all the same.

Now sits patiently for an update on my plugin (modo) as you weren't kidding about the new version of maxwell not working with the old plugin correctly .

edit : I got an error registering MXM/MXI Explorer Thumbnails when installing. Saying you can register manually later by executing mx_shell-register.bat in the shell subfolder.

I've not had that error before, win 64 8.1 pro

I encountered with same error when beta was installing.

And to the size of installation file, the SDK folder is probably the main reason [3.1 289MB compared to 3.2 beta 807MB ].
There are also new test scenes in library folder.

thanks Tomo , just opened studio direct to look at the scenes (scenes might explain size expansion).

Really good idea by next limit to do something like that :!:

Hi photomg1, thanks for the report, we hope to have it fixed before final release.

great stuff Nachob ! ,

looking at the included example scenes (which are great btw) a lot of them come with a text file that opens up suggesting to have a play with multilight with them etc....
so trying to do that by hitting render I get an unable to export error/check console everytime I try to render these ..... looks like for various reasons depending on the scene in question .

anyone else able to render these ?

Doesn't seem too.. I get this error even if I try and change the folder location.

WARNING: Image path does not seem valid: C:\Program Files\Next Limit\Maxwell 3\default.png
WARNING: MXI path does not seem valid: C:\Program Files\Next Limit\Maxwell 3\default.mxi
Error saving scene: Write MXS : Cannot write MXS file in the specified path

I have made a new maxwell install folder called Maxwell 3.2, wonder if that is messing it up.

Hello all,

What may be happening there is that your Program Files folder (and the "library" folder is inside it) may not have writing permissions, so the temporary .mxs file that Maxwell tries to render when the render is launched can not be stored in the scene folder and the render can not start.

Can you try enabling writing permissions for the library>scenes folder and its children?

Let us know.

There is an option on the Studio Preferences panel where you can define the folder to the .mxs temporary scene files.

If you have this option in "Project Folder" you will get this error message when the project folder were protected (like Program Files is).

Try changing it to "Temp Folder" and see if now you can render those scenes successfully.

Let us know.

Greetings
