I've experienced siginificant slow-down on the osx 10.5.1 while dealing with large files in Maxwell studio 1.6.1. Sometimes i wouldn't be able to work on the project since the cursor is constantly spinning. Have you mac users experienced the same issue? which i haven't seen on a winXP machine.

my mac spec: macbook pro 2.33 core2duo, 2 gig ram, 10.5.1 leopard, MR 1.6.1

cheers

update: I've just tested the same scene on XP version of maxwell installed on the maxbook pro via bootcamp turns out to be running perfectly!! I just felt how helpless the mac users are always recieving the 2nd class performance on the high-end 3d software market. ;(

In nextlimit we are fully commited to the mac platform and good mac performance is one of our main goals. Please could you send us the scene that shows bad performance in OSX.

Thanks

I also have noticed a slow down. But I attributed it to using materials with some displacement. Unfortunatley, I am not yet aware of what settings related to displacement might improve overall performace and still yeild the displacement look I need. I currently have been setting all my displacement to adaptive. But maybe that is making things slow??? Is this a bad practice?
