I've got a G5 2x2 running 10.3.9 and the RC5 renderer just won't launch. I don't have any previous copies or plist files installed or in the trash. I've done the license.dat install through the help menu in mxstudio and copied the license.txt file to the maxwell app package. I can get the nloffice.mxs file to load into mxstudio but cannot launch the renderer from inside studio or by dragging the file on top of the maxwell app itself. The maxwell icon will appear in the dock, bounce once, and that's it. I've tried re-downloading the file a number of times just to make sure I have the latest and my last attempt was about 20 minutes ago. I think I've read all the posts about OSX problems so far but maybe I'm missing something?

I am having exactly the same problem, but thought it was specific to G4 processors...apparently it's not. Another G5 user had success by copying the license.dat file into Maxwell (show package contents)>Contents>Mac OS. This didn't work for me, however.

Just in case it helps, i think that in maxwell's package you must put the license.dat too, not the .txt (old versions of license).
