i appologize for a controversial title, but i would like the following to be read. also, i regret that this is one of my first contributions to this community.

i represent a large architecture bureau, so i refreign from expressing my personal opinion of the unprofessional and unethical 2nd-class treatment of customers of the macintosh platform (as well as some software packages).

it is obvious that the NL team are dedicated and passionate about their work, but that does not replace their responsibility to communnicate equally to their clients, especially regarding unfulfilled obligations.

this is unacceptable to the office i represent, as when money is paid, communication is a minimum requierment.

we will communicate directly to NL on our issues, but in the spirit of this forum which has kept us patient and silent in hope for more than a week, i feel obligated to state our position here for the benifit of others.

NL, our office is not a 2nd class customer, this is not a 2nd class platform, and you are not striving to be a 2nd class renderer. improve your business practices and live up to your responsibilities.

our company fully expects equal treatment in the forum regarding the OSX platform, sketchup plugin, as well as any other promised elements connected to maxwell.

I agree, my studio (toxedesign), have plans to use maxwell as main render software, and we are really disappointed of this situation. Our brochure was delayed because we want to put in only maxwell renders. At this point, we can wait only few days and then use another software, for sure we can't reach the amazing results of maxwell, but at least our clients can see that we're not sleeping.

I have the max respect for the work of NL team, but other software house (pixologic, newtek) are really precise regarding the release date of their software.

Yaniv, i completely agree with all of your words.

I've noticed that many windows user are frustrated with a lot of bugs. NL have make a step much longer than the leg, so these are the results... Now i understand why brazil, vray and final render are developed only for PC and a few apps... Maxwell is developed for three platform, 15 apps or more and no one can use it decently for now!

I couldn't even make the windows version start at my work-pc, so I'll have to wait for a working release anyway..

this is not at the level of discussing whether NL has or has not delivered what is promised on there web site. it is a fact that what is advertised is false marketing. we are not interested in legally persuing a company trying to get off the ground with a potentially good product.

however, we are surprised to see NL openly alienating parts of their user base.

it is unprofessional and unreasonable that some platforms and software get preferential treatment, publically here on the forum, in the form of communication, involvement, and eventually product, while others are shut out and ignored. it is also self destructive.

equal communication is a minimal expectation for all paying customers.

this policy of alienation should not be tolerated by anyone in this community. it corrupts the fundamental trust involved, and can only lead to negative long term relationships for NL and its customers.

this community, if it cares about this product, should not allow it.

To dream, the impossible dream!

Since this is the completely ignored, low-life slumming area of the Maxwell world (the MAC forum), have any of you tried Cheetah3D. You ought to give it a look. Works pretty well for 99 bucks. Supports HDRI and has great animation tools.

This is a two minute render using an HDRI I made from a VR. Cheetah might keep everyone entertained while waiting for Maxwell!

Maya I still don´t understand why you call me a dreamer

and

Jake256... you are jakeing aren´t you?

I also bought Cinema 4D and i work with it long time... many years.
I didn't bought Maxwell because i want a new render engine... or because i need to buy one, i bought maxwell because is a different render engine, is based on real life, in real physics, and for me, i´m an architect and is the best to test the real light inside buildings..., for architecture i think is the best, for simulate the real is the best... Attention i m not 3D artist.
Maxwell is a very good engine and will be... even great when final release is out...
I´m upset with NL politics not with the product... even with beta version i´m very glad with the results.

No I'm not joking. MaxwellRC for Mac is vaporware. MaxwellRC for windoze is a mess and getting messier. The beta is at best crippled and slower than molasses.

The situation is not good and the constant RAH-RAH from the die-hard believers reminds me of Jim Jones and his followers.

I want to believe, but they haven't gives the Maxwell community much and they have already thumbed their noses at the Mac community.

Keep the faith Goncalo!
