We are improving now the RC5 version, as soon as we release it, we will deliver the Mac version soon after that.

Thank you for getting back to us. We are working hard to be able to deliver the 1.0 version as soon as possible and the Mac version will follow soon after.

hmmm, two statements here, one which promises an OSX RC5 and another one which rather suggests that we will have to wait some time after the 1.0 release...

now we urgently need an official statement!

Hello Everyone,

Happy Christmas and a very happy New Year to one and all.
I hope you have been keeping an eye to the Announcements?
Yesterday there was a posting about the RC5 and a very soon release date of it, this apparently will be a Mac and PC release.

Here's hoping that Next Limit deliver this time.

What are the known issues with the beta?

This info should be published.

What issues is the RC5 going to tackle?

I'd like to gather a list because, for instance, I didn't know that the only environment that worked from the Sketchup plugin was the "physical." Who would know?

I want this list in a couple of weeks or I will return the software for a refund. I don't have time to use an unfinished product.

Sincerely,

William Huchting

I am sorry but I have to smile at this post. Most have been dealing with Maxwell for at least months and still no proper working verision. There is no chance of anyhting happening properly within a couple of weeks. Return it now and safe yourself time and money. On the other hand there is no other software available that does what Maxwell does in the foreseeable future so you miss a chance at that as well asking for a refund. That's why some who bought Maxwell and realize its potential are patiently waiting. There must be some reward for those who keep their faith, at least I hope so.

Maybe there's no other software available that does what Maxwell does (or rather promises to be able to do some shiny day), but there is something I can predict anyhow: NL are going to be taken to court soon. The way they act is definitely illegal. For a company in this situation its not very clever to deal with Apple customers in such a manner.

Hello Everyone,

If you have not received an email today from NL, I am sure it is on the way.
Here is what it said.

"Dear friends, it's time to provide the latest information about the status of Maxwell.

First of all, thank you all for your patience. We have been working hard in the last two weeks preparing a stable RC5 version. Our first priority has been to assure the stability and quality of the render engine and, second, integrate with the new materials. Meanwhile, Maxwell Studio has been improved.

We have accomplished these milestones successfully. Our goal was to release RC5 last week, unfortunately we finished the last changes last friday and didn't want to make a mistake again releasing too soon. There are also some issues that we want to work out before.

We are working very closely to the Maxwell "A-Team" (testing team) which is now taking more responsibility on the testing process and quality assurance. We are now very cautious about releasing something without the A-Team green light.

To summarize, we are very confident about a RC5 release this week, including the Windows and Macintosh versions. I will invite the A-Team members to disclose some information about this progress.

I wish everybody a happy new year 2006 (the "Maxwell strikes back" year)

Victor Gonzalez
CEO Next Limit Technologies"

Hello All,

Just received an email from Next Limit.
Just trying to keep everyone up to date on the Mac side...

Dear Customer,

Happy New Year! We wish you all the best for 2006.

We would like to ask you the name of the 3D application/s and operating system/s you normally use with Maxwell Render. We asking you for that information as we would like to be able to support as many platforms as possible in the future, and we are doing some research for that purpose.

Thank you for your cooperation.
All the best,

Next Limit Technologies

Well, I just immediately reply the email.

But sad story is one of my Mac client who bought Maxwell at the same time as me. He can't use Maxwell on his mac with c4d for along time. This day he don't event talk or complain about Mac version. Not include my 2 potential customers too...

Well, the thing is like, we paid for a software that we want to use on Mac as well as people who use on Win. But the dev's priority is far behide Win version. (Can't help to think about why not on Modo case). I've faith with Maxwell very much but I can't think about what the final release look like. When it will stable enough, network render that should be easy to use. Can't hold my breath for Multi-Pass rendering..

Sorry, guys. Not post much here, just keep reading.. but this is Jan 06. I've waiting for it for a long time.
