okay, let's get rational here ... - same material but different colour .. UDIM ? UV tiles ? Colour jitter ? ... oh how I wish it would be a Vertex colour ... so we could use colour sets ... ideal if that would add values to a texture channel ...

But .. YEAH - NODE based maxwell is the literally next Limit!! have maxwell utility nodes would make it both faster and super useful!!
