well you can't really compare the two - it's like comparing Realflow to Bryce. I do agree that the lack of relative paths in the shaders is annoying. Did you get the MXM Checker app? It fixes the texture paths in mxm files

I am overly negative at times about Maxwell. I feel Maxwell has so much more potential if the company made more effort in basic handling of the application. I suppose they have limited resources to spent on research and development and have their priorities on the render quality. Understandable.

I did not get the MXM checker app but one wonder why such an app exists. I find it typical Maxwell to add layers of complexity to the already hard job of getting good looking digital images.

I should also add a list of great things about Maxwell but I find it hard to write about when basic matters are still such an issue. I haven't had to pay for an upgrade and so I wonder how Maxwell is financed. Maybe I better shut up and pray Maxwell will still be there for a while....lol.

well even with a company as big as Autodesk, you get software holes. They were shipping the Intel Maya builds with no port of the vector renderer as full software and didn't even make a note of it. They just recently dropped it entirely. It's probably done by a third party but still... for expensive software by a giant, that's bad handling
