Can I use Rebusfarm with Maxwell V4?

I am not talking about GPU rendering – just plain old CPU. I just don't know if Rebusfarm will work with an .mxs generated by Maxwell V4?

I contacted Rebus Farm a few days ago to ask the same thing. Currently they do NOT support Maxwell v4. However, they are planning to, but there is no ETA unfortunately.

I have found Rebus Farm to take quite a while sometimes when new point versions are available, but I assume this is because that each upgrade is quite a task with a render farm, especially with a completely new version.

Here is hoping it happens soon though.

I just got an email from Ranchrender saying that V4 .mxs files should be backwards compatible and thus work on Ranchrender (choosing V3 when submitting).

Can anyone confirm this? (with either Ranch or Rebus)

Thanks

Given point updates for v3 were never compatible with each other, I can't imagine how a v4 file will work on v3. In fact I have read on these forums that you can not open a v4 mxs file in v3 studio. Whether this is the same for the network renderer, I do not know.

MXS are compatible backwards, nothing new there. What is not compatible are MXI, so you cannot start a render in V4 and continue on V3.

I have done some test on rebus, there's no official support for v4 evident on the site, so what I did was open the mxs in studio 3.2 then re-save then upload, 2 out of 3 test got stuck needing human intervention but all render fine. I was told they are working on fixing the issue.

I already started a Thread to this theme. https:[…]
