Loaded the beta down on my Dual G5, installed it the way the readme says, started C4D, created a camera and applied a max tag, started the plugin, selected the camera, clicked render - and Excel opened instead of Maxwell. Repeated the procedure several times, each with te same result. Excellent rendering!

Had the same problem exept the mxs files opened final cut
Fix:
Right click the maxwell app and choose "show package contents":
Right click this file:
Contents/MacOS/rgb.mxs and check what it says
under the "open with" item. If it doesnt say maxwell choose "other" and
locate the maxwell app.
Hope it works
