Hi,
I just installed my 2 new mac pro 8core with 64Go Ram.
I expected increasing the render speed a lot, but...

When I compare with my old dual quad from 2007, I only get 140% of speed. disapointing...
I checked the CPU usage and I noticed tant only around 50% is used by the render now.
I use Maxwell since the V1, on different computers, (mostly mac) and I've always seen 100% of CPU usage.
Is anybody noticed this issue ?
And... is there a solution ?

Thanks

Hi Pascal,

Have you checked the number of threads is set to automatic and you are not limiting it there? Is it using the benchmark scene or some other personal scene?

CPU usage should be at 100% in v3 as always has been except if limited by yourself or there is some strange bug in the scene you are testing.

Let us know if you find something

Hi,

Thank you for reply.

Well, I made other renders, and the CPU is 100%
But the speed is really not what I expected...
Nothing more than 140% :(

If you make your scene that renders at 50% available to us, we can use it to locate why its not working as fast as it should and fix it for a future version.

About the speed of the Mac Pro, you can compare the performance in Maxwell here: http://maxwellrender.com/benchwell , and check your numbers are the expected.
