Hi,
I used to be able to get my network to render. Two computer's OSX 10.7.5
But with V3 I tried to do the same but it does not work. Anyone who has been able to get it going or had problems from V2 to 3 and solved it ?
Any help appreciated.

Please give us more precise info than that, do you get any error messages, at what point does it fail, have you tried with firewalls turned off on both machines, are both machines licensed correctly, have you tried also with a very simple scene, have you tried with a scene that's not using textures.....

One of the biggest differences with 2.7 is that "send dependencies" is now OFF by default (in 2.7 it was ON ). Please try checking send dependencies she configuring the render and let us know if t works better. (Also use always the latest beta for your tests, it may have issues already solved)

When I open the rendernode on the node system I get this.

[11/February/2014 16:50:12] Trying to detect license through broadcasting.
[11/February/2014 16:50:12] ERROR: RLM returned error : No Error
[11/February/2014 16:50:12] ERROR: TCP server can not listen port: 45459
[11/February/2014 16:50:12] Connecting to render process: Binding to port: 45463
[11/February/2014 16:50:12] Maxwell node 3.0.0.3 successfully initialized.
[11/February/2014 16:50:12] Temp folder created in: /var/folders/_f/gfjz1gvc8xjbtv001s6jx9m00000gq/T/mxnetwork/rendernode_iMac-Dennis.local/

There are error messages in the log starting at:[11/February/2014 16:50:12] RLM returned error : No Error You can find more info using the search tools in the log window.
These last two lines of text I can accept with ok after which the window disappears

Strangely this is new. I was able to get the license to work before. But the dependencies were indeed set to off. So that is fixed but I can't get the node online anymore. See above console readout.

On my main system all works well. I installed the Render Suite on the node-system as well without activating the license. Do I need to active the license on the node system ? Previously I just installed V3 on the node system and it found the licensed system on the network by itself and I could the see node appear on my Render Monitor.

I am clueless…. It did not work yesterday and the same configuration now renders fine over the network. I also don't get the error messages anymore.

I think with the depencies setting my problems are solved. Lets see if the network problem get back otherwise I am fine now.
Tx for helping out.

ps, that was for a simple renderjob. The more complicated one seems to stall at the moment. I will report back later.

Everything works now. Especially the depencies setting is important. Network rendering requieres a good set up of the network. The node system needs access to all files, especially a bit tricky if some are stored locally on the licensed system, others on a server or another system.

Once the network is properly checked and all access is given in my case it works.
Tx for the help here. I am really happy to be able to use the network again with V3.
