Just received the following mail from Maya:

"We feel it important at this juncture to thank each and every one of our clients for their support and patience in this last year on the road to the release of Maxwell Render v1.0. We’d like to do this by offering everyone who bought a license during the Alpha, Beta and RC stage of development, an additional license of Maxwell Render v1.0 free of charge."

Nextlimit, what's going on there between you ears? We all bought and paid v1.0 by purchasing former stages already. You HAVE TO deliver. That's what we've been waiting for far too long. (Despite that you won't deliver the Mac version on April 26th I bet.)

erhmmmm...what exactly is your beef here ?
is it the date ? or the fact that you think you wont get v1 without paying more money ?
You will get a free licence without paying money. That is a huge difference to paying an upcharge on v1. And a nice move considering the stressed nerves of especially the mac community (although I also doubt, the mac version will be there by then)

I.) I feel pi**ed if something I am entitled to because I paid for it months ago is brazenly declared as a gift. This is a mail I received exactly one year ago from maya@nextlimit.com:

Remember that your license includes not only a full version of Maxwell
Render Alpha 1 but also entitles you to the following:
1. E-mail access to Support Product Specialists.
2. Support on troubleshooting or other unexpected behaviour encountered while using the software.
3. Answers to questions or problems related to software features and their use.
- Software Updates which ensure you have the most current version of Maxwell including the final product: MAXWELL RENDER 1.0

II.) In the meantime I had to learn how to interpret nextlimit mails: if an OSX version is not formally announced they won't release one. We'll go on watching the the windows guys using the software we paid for.

tok,

you paid for one and get a second one free. Simple as that, and a real favor. What's wrong?
And it would beat all known forms of NL boldness to show a video with a OS X interface and not deliver that same product.

Hello!

I think it's just a misunderstanding, tok, you had to understand that a second license (which means you'll have now 2 licenses) is to be offered if you contact them with the link they provide in the email.

So don't be that pissed off, just admit you hadn't understood weel at first reading, and don't keep beeing agry like that, come on !

No need to be negative after an official release message, sent worlwide, offering a second license which costs a thousand bucks, and which has been presented in the demoreel with Cinema4D/MacOSX known to be the "forgotten ones" for the last months, nope ??

Just enjoy, people ;)
