Ahh, hm alright thanks Jake and jc4d.
I'm sure your translation is fine JC :) thanx, so in a few hours possibly tonight should there be a RC5 for G4 Mac's you can use.

But the G5 version is it really non-functional ?! i can't believe that, now i wish i had a Mac so i could test for myself. The plugins i can almost understand aren't updated yet, but i'm sure NL are onto that job aswell. No one should be left behind with a non-functional piece of software.

Max,

It's not nonfunctional on the G5. But it does crash and menus are too small to read and if you accidently click the window during a render it stops. That last one seems really silly.

I've used Lightwave and the RC5 seems alot like it. Too much stuff.

The MXST and MXCL Output options are not available in Render Options like it's shown in the User's guide. This was causing some crashes earlier, but I started guessing and now I'm getting it to work.

The materials are a pain without the plugins. Applying them one at a time to triangles and groups of triangles makes it a very tediuos job indeed.

So it is working, but is hamstrung by lack of plugins, some quirky GUI items and of course the G4 issue. Not awful, not great. Lots of work yet to come.

Well, without functional plugins what's the point of using this program?

When doing a rendering of a building, the geometery always gets modified, some materials change, etc. etc. I don't understand how anyone can use this unless they're using models that are set in stone.

This is the birth defect on the Studio concept.

Shure, you get all the features of Maxwell (with the notable exception of
animation and motion blur...), but the workflow is broken. To learn how to
operate another 3D app doesn't help to be productive either.

On the other hand Studio is the proper test application to get the SDK tested
in a way that's not tighted to a specific application.

I'm confident though that the plugins will improve and that Studio will
only be needed to design Materials then.
