could you give us more info, even posting some of your tests? It is difficult to know what is happening without having more details. Perhaps there is a problem adjusting the camera parameters, of you have not done the material assignment right.

Are there plans to create "studios" or enviroments similiar to what I have in SW.
Yes, we will add presets and other features and tools very soon.

Hello,
MaschinenKrueger wrote:I'm guessing that alot of the failed efforts are coming from my camera definitions.
May be. To get an accurate view you should pay attention mainly to this things:
- In the SolidWorks camera property manager you have to fill the "L" value of the "Field of View" with the same value that you get in the "camera position group-> distance to target". Also in the camera tab of the Maxwell property manager you should fill the focal length field with the same value that you have in the "Lens" field of the "Field of View" groupp in the SolidWorks camera property manager . SO if you have a 50 mm lens, put this value in the maxwell focal length.

Rightnow, it's just grainy and mostly white with bitmapped looking shadows. I'm not giving it much time either since I'm just testing, so that may contribute to the grainy images.
are you using the latest version of the plugin 0.9.1? we released it last week, we have not detected stability issues with that version.
MaschinenKrueger wrote:What time frame am I looking at to create a 1800x2400 clear image? I know it depends on objects and lights and materials, but are we talking 1hour or 17hours to create a studio product rendering to use in a presentation to a client. Just give me a range.
It could take from 1 hour to 50, it is too difficult to predict. But with our standalone we have improved the net capabilities a lot. If you have more than one computer you could use them to get faster renders. Also we continue making maxwell faster with each update. Maxwell is going to be so much faster than now.
MaschinenKrueger wrote:Is there some simple file available to test render? Right now, I'd like to get something that looks as good as the spheres in the User manual.
Sure some user would like to share some scenes with you. I will try to look for files without copyright to post a sample scene with all the setup to show you how easy is setup maxwell.
