With the recent release of SW2009 PR2, we are getting pretty close to the time that SW is going to be releasing 2009 for production. For us, it looks like a pretty good step and I think that we will be switching earlier rather than later. We made the transition from SW2007 to SW2008 very late, but the 2008 interface is very similar to the 2009 interface and adds better support for mapping textures and (what I think will be) a better appearance paradigm, eliminating the differences between real view, color, and textures.

But I have digressed...my question is, do have you any projected timeframe for the release of the plugin's support of SW2009?

The issue is not with SW2009, but with the SW2009 beta, which returns version-info in a format that the plugin is not expecting - this causes the error. It should run just fine on a release version of SW2009 - but no matter either way, since the RC for the next plugin update is currently in the hands of testers. So for a time-frame, I would think it should be within a week or so - but of course that depends on if any bugs are found in testing, so it's not a guarantee.

OK. Thanks. FYI, looks like PR2 is still returning non-expected version info.

BTW, it appears that installing SW2009-PR2, caused my addins to disappear. I needed to refresh the installation of all addins -- e.g. 3D Connexion, Maxwell, etc.

One additional thought/question. In SW2009, the separate Color and Texture controls have been replaced with a single Appearance control. That is, both color and texture are now mapped into what is called an "Appearance". Will the plugin be able to handle this without any changes (once we go to SP0 as this should remove the unexpected version info)?
