can i control the uv map using the sw plugin? if not how can i control the placement of a texture on a body in sw?
i could not find a tutorial on this subject anywhere. that could help as well.

There are several others that discuss texture controlling, I found it rather confusing though. From what I understood, today it's almost impossible to control the placement of textures and decals properly within solidworks (plugin). Although you can apply textures and change size and rotation.

For me, comming from PhotoWorks, it's quite a struggle dealing with decals etc. with the solidworks plugin. Maxwell Studio seems to better to use there, but I didn't got into it yet...

Maybe one of the next plugin updates will give us more control over size, position and mapping mode within solidworks.... :-) Hopefully ... ;-)

thanks roberto, i'll look it through, i was thinking that im missing something.
but maybe as you said its not there yet.
what i do now is change my original image until it sits right and/or split with line areas in which i want to "put" some map. but its a hassle, and i never know whats going to happen....
