Hi,

I have an assembly with about 500 parts and no matter what I try the solidworks crashes when I try to save the mxs file. It's not running out of memory. I've tried lowering the quality sliders etc. but nothing is working. There must be some bad geometry somewhere? Even if I suppress everything except the floor it still crashes?

blech!

I had the same problem twice.
The first time I "solved" it by removing all materials before exporting (and assigning materials again with Studio).
The second time, I had to split my scene in 3 parts...I exported the scene by third and reimported them all in Studio...
In your case it seems that you would have a better chance using the first solution.
Good luck

That's my experience too. The Plugin can't cope with large assemblies.
I end up splitting everything to separate files and merging in Studio.
It's a pain.

This time the fix was similiar to getting the plugin to work in 2007. I finally got it to export by loading everything with the plugin disabled and then turning it on and doing a file saveas *.mxs. Phew!
