Bizarre

Last night I installed the RC and SW plugin on my laptop which is a virgin machine with not previous contact with Maxwell, and all went well after I added to the environment path. Placed my license file and located it in the Help Menu and all was fine.

I have just loaded on RC and SW plugin on my main machine after uninstalling the previous maxwell installations.

The RC works as far as i can tell and using the Help , I located the new license file

But the SW plugin does not work - It flashes up that the license is invalid.

How do I get the SW plugin to accept the new license file as so create an mxs file that I can test. The RC does not accept my old mxs files.

I had a feeling I was getting an easy ride :D up to now.

Juan - do you have any clues.

ARGGGGHHHHH

I knew it could only get worse.

Now SW just crashes out when I hit the render button in SW plugin.

There must be a hangover from the previous install knocking about - nowonder people got totally pissed off over the weekend .

This brings back all the bad memories of the SW upgrades that SW used to put out a couple of years ago - SW seem to have improved but I still have my Voodoo dolls and JuJu charms ready when upgrading - I 'll have to use them for Maxwell now. Curses.

If anyone has a clue then can they let me know - in the meen time I'll uninstall Maxwell , run a regcleaner and see if I have any luck.

Good news

-

I knew my original Nigerian Voodoo dolls would work - My computer is petrified when I get them out as it knows that non - compliance could lead to a horrible fall from the window.

Uninstalled Maxwell - ran ccleaner and then reinstaled it all and it worked in both RC and Sw.

Juan - your off the hook :D -

I'm not selective - I just delete them all  so sorry, I can't be specific.

Anything which had a wiff of maxwell was toast !!

When re-installing I got some dialogue box half way throughthe Rc install about looking for a *.msi file - I just cancelled and pressed on - it claimed Maxwell studio was installed fine at the end.

I then opened RC and went to help and selected the location of the license file.

I next extracted the SW plugin to the Next Limit folder (not the maxwell folder inside Next Limit)

Next I opened SW and using Open > *.dll file type I selected the SW plugin. The I opened a SW assembly and all worked .

Have you another machine to try installing the RC on.
