Some problems, mostly mentioned elsewhere, but here's my first attempt with rc1 ...

... using the SW plugin and mxcl.

Had to change to a custom emitter rather than the Cool White and did a "rewrite material with selected parameters" for each of the materials used previously.

1 hour render, sl 16.18 res 400x400

All I get is a fuzzy black and white image, could you do a tutorial on what you did to get a render.

John, not sure what I can add...

The assembly was one I used in beta, so already had its materials defined. To ensure that these materials were accepted in the RC, I assumed that there might have been a format change between the beta and rc1 so selected each material in turn and hit the "Rewrite selected material with selected parameters" button in the "Material Creation" option box.

Only other change I made was to set the emitter material to a Custom setting as I had read elsewhere that this was the only light source type that would work.

Then, hit the Render button and it rendered ... left it to render for an hour and it produced the result shown.

This was really a test of the workflow from SW through to Maxwell (mxcl), which seems to remain intact. There does appear to be a problem with the resultant render (for example, its a lot darker than it should be), but the workflow appears to be working fine.

Hope it helps,

Mick

This is caused by the emitter settings being screwed up. I opened the .mxs file that the plugin creates in the Studio app, change the emitter settings to something sensible, and start the render from Studio. (Pressing the "Render" icon in the toolbar requires correct PATH variable settings as covered elsewhere...)

So, is this a known issue?
