I'm really looking forward to the release 1 of Maxwell, those tests and render times on the announcements page look amazing.

My wish list as follows, some of these may well be included in V1, in no particular order.
1. Support for decals, this may be dealt with in textures.
2. A different method of applying textures that doesn’t rely on SolidWorks textures. SolidWorks textures and there scaling / mapping issues are a pain in the-----. Rotating textures even 90 degrees is pain in SolidWorks. Applying a SolidWorks texture in an assembly even without Maxwell is a pain in the ----.
3. If textures and materials are applied in the soon to be released standalone, these materials textures will be automatically imported back into the SolidWorks Maxwell plug-in.
4. It would be possible to apply Maxwell textures to faces of parts in assemblies
5. The standalone material generator will be integrated into the SolidWorks plug-in. Material generation is the biggest frustration for me at the moment, lots of time in experimentation.
6. Now that Max will be able to render quickly, it would be nice if SolidWorks animator could output Maxwell frames like it can with Photoworks.
7. The plug-in would warn when overwriting mxs files, or at least there could be a switch allowing the waring to be turned on.
8. By right clicking in the material window, you could sort by name.
That’s my little list for the moment.
I prefer working with Maxwell over the frustration of working with PhotoWorks and I would like this opportunity to thank all the Maxwell team, especially Juan, for making a SolidWorks plug-in.
Thanks for listening, the people at SolidWorks could learn a lot from you people.
