Hi,

I am currently working on making stands for shows, like boat shows etc.

When i render these images i would like to have a floor plane build upp by a grid that ia allways 1x1 meater. is it possible to make a material that allways has the same proportions?

Another question:
Is there an easy way of making a floor that fades away in the background? like fasdes to white or black?

Would really appriciate some tips.

Best regards E

Hi Eddie,

Maxwell has a feature called Real Scale for sizing textures to a common size:

When you enable Real Scale in a texture, the Tile X/Y parameters take on a different meaning: rather than meaning 'put x number of tiles into the given space', they mean 'make each tile x meters wide'. Unfortunately, it seems I inadvertently broke this in the 1.7 plugin, so it is not working correctly and you would need to open your MXS in Studio and re-size the texture-mapping there. You can find information on how to do Real Scale mapping in Studio in the regular Maxwell Render manual.

As for your second question, I'm not sure what you mean. To have something fade into black, you would just need to light the scene in such a way that the space opposite the camera fades out into shadow. I don't know what it would mean to have a scene that fades to white - maybe if you post an image of what you're trying to accomplish we can give you some advice on how to accomplish it.
