You should ask Juan about this, but if i may guess it's related to SP0 which you say you're running now. If possible try to upgrade to a newer one like SP2 or SP3 whichever is the latest one.

I have been wanting to upgrade so that might have to be done

but also when I click on about maxwell it says the render engine version is 1.1 and not 1.5..

and the plugin is 1.1.17 any ideas..

Dear martgreg,

I encourage you to update SW with other SP newer than sp0.0, it won't work fine in many cases and could create an exception when exporting the scene due an issue with the camera.

Kind regards,

but what about when it says teh engine version #

is 1.1 correct.. shouldn't it read 1.5

also what about the plug in... it is the version from the download linj and it says it is version 1.1.17 shouldn't it read 1.5.1

as mentioned in the post that is stickied at the top of this forum...

I have tried this on 2006 and 2007 with similar bad results...

are you sure this is an issue with sp 0 ..

Everything appears correct execept when I try and save an mxs file and also when i hit the render button

v2006sp0 has nothing to do with v2007sp0. In 2007 sp0 there is a known issue and camera info can not be properly extracted. When the plugin asks for the camera values SW generates an exception and crashes. The first service packs use to have this sort of bugs, that's why newer free service packs are provided.

We have both versions of Solidworks.

I have at home sp0 and was getting issues.

I tried sp0 2007 with similar issues.

I am going to upgrade tommorow to a later version SP and see what happens.

I would prefer to go with the newwer version of soliworks ie 2007.

Are there any issues that I should worry about. because i want to get started on some stuff and i want to also get some network renderings going..

so is it a safe bet to go with a newer sp on 2007 .. or am i going to run into any problems...

can you clarify what version I am going to see when I install the sw plug in..

as mentioned above and it hasn't been addressed yet ?

will I see version 1.5 for the render engine and 1.5.1 for the swmaxwel plugin...

Generally speaking there is no logically reason not to be running the latest service pack of solidworks. I'm amazed by how many people I've run into lately using sw2007 sp0. sp0 had a huge number of very serious bugs. So, definately upgrade! :)
