I keep trying to set the Material paths in the Prefs, but when I hit import materials it always defaults to the folder where the part file is located.

Any thoughts ?

Hi Adam,

Right now the "open file" dialog starts in the last path selected. The preferences material paths are for looking for missing materials. When a SW scene is loaded, if a material is not found, the plugin searches in this locations.

Btw you can select more than one file at the same time in the "open file" dialog, and you also can drop items from the desktop or any window (just checking you know all the ways to import materials )
