How to get a brushed stainless effect. I have tried within SW plugin but no luck so I am trying in Studio. Is this possible?

I have loaded a bump and texture layer ( that I filched from the SW programme for use with Photoworks :D ) into the 'metal' in Studio - but I still get a chrome effect on the steel tubes. How does one go about getting the brushed Stainless Steel look in Studio? Any ideas where I'm going wrong? Only have SW so other programmes/plugin are not possible :?

The final image is not meant to be ultra realistic but a sort of washed out bright white concept rendering - however I think the bright chrome on the tubes won't quite get past the accountants. I may actually end up powdercoating the tubes if too many marks are left on the linished tube after bending, but that is a battle for later.

Hi Jonathan,

What settings do you have in the "Coating", It maybe worth deleting that layer.

My guess would be to turn up the anistropy. That would make the reflections make more brushed.

See my post in the main maxwell forum called brushed stainless. I posted a mxm material with a bump map you can try out.

So, is this a known issue?
