I just noticed, installing the license server on a win-server 2012 essentials machine, that just opening inbound on 5053 wasn't enough to complete the entire licensing process on a network client machine. it looked ok at first but after closing the Activate license dialog the gui would stall for a while and then display a license error(failed server communication) in the console.

checking the firewall log I saw tcp incoming blocked on port 63098, and after opening this one too for rlm it works fine now.

not sure why this is port 63098, at least I don't know how/if this can be modified, but eventually this info is helpful in case of license server trouble.
