Do you mean do a network render with some cpu nodes and other gpu nodes and then merge them all?

Well, it would be nice to use any combination of them: CPU and GPUs on one single machine and also on a network if nodes are available... :-D

actually, as on of the clients who took advantage of the v3-v4 promo, are we suppose to receive a promo v4 code via e-mail? I'm counting the minuets here....

We’ve “unzipped” the old, generic Maxwell Suite package from V3, and Maxwell 4 license seats are now based on the 3D platform that you use.
So if i need two plugins and Studio i now have to buy three full licenses? Really?!?
Ok, let's see what the upgrade price is and the full license per plugin, but this sounds like it will be more expensive and less flexible...

For the moment we are only supporting one GPU per computer, and we will be working on multi-GPU for future updates.
:(

Edit: i forgot... when i include Rhino into my workflow in the near future i will now need to buy four full packages of v4 instead of one. Wow!

Softimage was discontinued in March of 2014 if memory serves.

Nextlimit can choose another way :
They continue developing the free plugins as before and sell :
1- Maxwell studio + free plugins but these plugins are limited ( fire ; exportation ; materials )
2- Full plugins (with full features )
"And the price of : "Maxwell +fee plugins" higher than "the price of every Full plugin ( like the price of Maxwell for sketchup )"

No, you will maintain your v3 license and get a new v4 license. If you install them both on different directories you can even run them at the same time (something I used to do to compare some v3 vs v4 behavior during development).

well, if that is so, it would be great to see - or at least get told - in what way the plug-ins (c4d, in my case) do change, wouldn't it?

Sorry are you sure about this? Because i was just told otherwise.
Here is a comment from Nextimit Maxwell Render Facebook Page regarding this topic.

"Massimo Galluzzo if i have a 3.2 license and upgrade to 4, will i lose the ability to use 3.2?"

"Maxwell Render, The Light Simulator Hi Massimo! Yes, as with any upgrade when you get the new version with a discounted price you don´t have the old one anymore. If you would like to keep both, you will need a new license. In any case an upgrade is the best option, as V4 will have both the CPU and the GPU render options."

I am sorry but this is really crazy. So i have just bought 3.2 with this promo which by the way is the last version that has a plugin for Softimage, i upgrade to 4 and i lose the rights to use 3.2? So i will find myself with version 4 only, with no plugin, and i would have to pick between Studio only or another 3d package version which i dont have.
What is this? If i knew this before i would have never bought the commercial version. This is like forcing and choking customers.
Guess i learned my lesson.
