We are architects who are using Maxwell Render since Dec 2004. But we didn't switch to V3 yet as our infrastructure is missing any kind of server where RLM would run 24/7. Because of other reasons we had to migrate to V3 last month and now RLM runs on a workstation which isn't built for running day and night... So we thought we are smart and bought one of those Intel Atom based Mini-PCs with a pre-installed Windows 8.

Well, other software (eg Zoo license server) runs fine on it, but RLM refuses to even start. If the reason is an old compiler that does not recognize Intel Atom yet, could you please recompile the RLM executable for us? Or does Reprise Software use some black magic in their code instead of proper algorithms? Then please change your licensing partner! We would love to stay with Maxwell Render...

Hi,

never tried rlm in an Atom....but it should work, since it's x86/x86-64 compatible.

Is your Atom 32 or 64 bit?
If it's a 32 bit chip, you can get rlm for 32 bit Intel x86 from http://www.reprisesoftware.com/license_ ... .admin.exe and install it somewhere. Then copy rlm.exe to where you installed our rlm server and try to start it. This should also work in a 64 bit chip, tho...
