ok, I made some mistakes when trying to license Maxwell on a second computer, but thanks to Mihai I could sort thlings out and it worked… untill it stopped working again.
Now the Studio license is unvalid again!
I checked everything. I watched the installation video about 10 times.
- firewall is off on both computers
- on the 1st computer, maxwell_license.lic contains HOST localhost ANY 5065
- on the 2nd computer, maxwell_license.lic contains HOST 192.168.0.200 ANY 5065
- RLM computer has fixed IP address 192.168.0.200
- the file maxwell_license.lic on the second computer says HOST 192.168.0.200 ANY 5065
- I changed the port number to 5065 on both computers as described in the video
- most of the time it is the license on the second computer that fails, and if I start up Studio on that computer, and after that on the host computer, than that one fails. I cannot activate them both.
- nothing has changed in the network settings between the time it worked and stopped working
- I have bought a license for 10 workstations.
- sometimes rebooting solves the problem, but that is trial and error (mostly error)

What am I missing?

Hi wimver,

" The standard "Maxwell Render Suite Floating" license includes 1 seat and 10 render nodes, the seat element allows you to use any of the plugins and/or Maxwell Studio (for set-up and editing), and the node element allows you to render (with the main Maxwell Render engine), save output, and use the network manager tools "

If this is the license you have, then thats the correct behaviour

You have the explanation of the licenses here:
