Can V3 output files (mxi,mxs} be opened in V2 and, vice versa, can V2 files (mxi,mxs) be opened and rendered in V3?

Does NL allow you to choose which license you want to upgrade if you have multiple V1 and V2 licenses?

What strategies would be best when purchasing to get the most out of your licenses?

V3 mxs can't be opened in V2, furthermore 3dsMax file that assigned V3 will not be opened in the same Max version which installed V2 plugin. (I don't understand this situation.

)

V2 mxs can be opened in V3 studio, but some materials should be tweaked. (displacement or normal mapping) (It is one of my complaint too)

NL said I can upgrade any of V1 or V2 license with same prices.
In my case before upgrade, I had (11)V1 license and (1)V2 license.
So I upgrade one of my V1 license through Customer Portal.
My expectation was (10)V1 + (1)V2 + (1)V3 license but now I have (11)V1 license and (1)V3 license. What the...???

When you upgraded did the web site allow you to specify which license (V1 or V2) you wanted to upgrade?

Yes, there is seperated [Renew or buy licenses now] link.
But eventually, it seemed doesn't work at all.

ok. so getting back to my original post, I got clarification from NL on the licensing scheme and was reassured that although it wont show on the site any V2 license will be maintained and can be used concurrently with v3. Good news!
