the problem only happens in vista windows.

When I set up my scene and apply all the materials to the model and then I click render everything works fine, then If I suddenly stop or cancel the render, and I go back to change any material, and double click them to open them, they won't open.. is strange..

Which version are you using? There was a glitch similar to that in some older versions.

I have vista ultimate and using the latest rhino plug in... it was not doing it before with the older plug in.

So this happens consistently, meaning, every single time? Otherwise, do you notice any other pattern?

I also noticed that if I let it sit there for a while without touching anything will work again for like 5 mins. or more.

Also If it would not apply a material to surface only solids.. is weird..

Well, it doesn't sound like it's really a plugin-specific (i.e. code) problem. You could try updating/repairing the .NET Framework on your machine and checking that there aren't other applications running that might listen to/interfere with mouse messages.

About applying materials, do you mean using drag-drop, or using a command or context-menu command? There is a bug in Rhino that prevents the drag-drop from working when the plugin's heads-up-display is enabled.

If I have a surface selected then select the material and right click to assign materials to the objets nothing will happen... the material would not apply...

Sounds like you've got multiple issues going on there. What happens if you:

1. make sure the plugin option 'Verbose Messages' is on
2. select a material
3. type the command: _Maxwell_ApplyCurrentMaterialToSelectedObjects

Is the material applied? Is anything printed to the command-line? Is there anything notable about the object, i.e. is it a block, part of a group, etc?
