Is there a way to set up the percantage of visible transmittance of glass

to run different renders comparing different types of glass

Not really sure what youre getting at.
But if you visually want to check how your glass material is behaving in terms of attenuation and roughness I suggest using a special Preview scene like the Attenuation Scene which I think can be found here somewhere on the forum.

It's also in the maxwell manual in the SSS Material Chapter.

a real life comparison for a daylighting analysis/ design

with two different types of glass(real life conditions)

one of which has a visual transmittance level of .63
the other has a visual transmittance level of .43
