Me again ;) (the new user)

All my renderings are "noisy".
I don't see how I could make better.
Could s.o. hep me ?

Thanks,

Vincent.
There are some things you can do to minimize noise.
There are some noise troubleshoting pointers here:
http://www.metinseven.com/article_maxwe ... tricks.htm

Note: If you have glass in the scene, then set the abbe number to 500 (I often set it to 1000) because dispersion takes way too ling to clear at this Maxwell WIP stage.

Also Maxwell's dispersion spectrum has a slight glitch in the order of its colors. http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... ight=prism

Maxwell renderings are based on electromagnetic calculations, so, if you give it enought time, it will converge to the optimal solution, but far from there it introduces noise for unsolved "portions" of the image; the only solution is to use a noise reduction program like Neat Image.

or to render to bit larger image (eg. resized 800xsomething should be originally rendered as 1280xsomething)... so after denoise and resize it should be pretty clean..

as it was your second or third message in the forum, i give you the first answer that come in mind, letin the render goin', otherwise other gave you other solution and theres also a search engine on the forulm and the topic has been aborded several times, sorry if you took it wrong no pun intended... :?

(interiors are not my specialty, but I'll play along)

Overal, this sounds kinda normal because the scene is indoors (lots of bouncing light) and the metallic objects in the scene are spreading around caustic noise.

I tried a test similar to your room and it took just about as long.

What are the dimensions of your room ? It seems too small (judging by the DOF)

Here is my test after 3hours (sampling level "18"). There is still noise.
I don't think there is much you can do other than
a) let it cook longer
b) use www.NeatImage.com to treat the noise
c) wait for june15 when Maxwell becomes about 4x faster.

I like to use a denoiser and "downscale". A denoiser is a must for Maxwell user.

Conan, this is the denoised version of your image:

nice output, huh!? 8)

cheers...

My biggest problem in maxwell is the strange DOF camera shake effect like in the image from conan. :(

Don't forget the beta version comes out Wednesday. NL is claiming a 4x increase in speed or more. That will help some with our noise issues.

After some test I find a good way for me (maxwell 1.33): render in double size with "high quality" + two times denoise + downscale 50%bring less noise and better details (as in the same time like normal size and one time denoise). I get sampling level 12 in double size and sampling level 15 in normal size.

It is not a strong effect, but a small step for a better quality in the same time.

How to achieve the " High Quality " anyway ?
I set the sampling level to 16 and 870 min, the screen still shows normal quality. :?:

Sorry, with high I mean normal quality. High quality is normal in Maxwell.
