* line 244: OnSceneError, _error, CallingMethod: Scene::EndWriteMxs(String^ Path)
* line 245: OnSceneError, _error, ErrorMessage: The Scene was not successfully written, due to an internal Maxwell error.
The specified MxsOutputPath was: C:\Summerville design\Kain\Citrus Proposal\model1\comp2.mxs
The specified ImageOutputPath was: C:\Summerville design\Kain\Citrus Proposal\model1\comp2.jpg
* line 246: OnSceneError, _error, END SDK ERROR
* line 247: OnEndWriteMxs, _notify, ExportScene returned: False

Thanks,

Hi J.C.

There is a remote possibility that you don't have permission to write to those paths - you could try erasing Scene Manager > Output Settings > Scene Path and Image Path, then exporting again. I tend to doubt that is the problem though. It may help to re-generate your render-meshes by changing the meshing parameters (i.e. File > Properties > Mesh). If that is no help, you can run RebuildMesh on any meshes in your scene, or Explode > Rebuild > Join on NURBS objects - some of them may be invalid in some way to the point where Maxwell is not happy with the render-meshes they produce.

If none of these things help, I would really appreciate if you could email this .3dm (or any failing part of it) to me. Unfortunately, that particular error is the last-chance MXS-writing error, and the plugin does not know the reason why it has happened - the Maxwell SDK just refused to create the MXS file. I try to get scenes like this whenever I can so I can step through them and inspect the meshes which are being exported - sometimes there is something unique about them which I can detect, and hopefully fix automatically.

Thanks,

JD

JD -
i couldn't find the problem. i ended up back tracking to an earlier version of the file. The rendered image is to be included in a grant proposal that will be submitted this month so the client does not want to release any versions of the file at this point. As soon as it "declassified" i will send you a copy for evaluation.

Thanks,
J.C.
