are you trying to use rhino's built-in capture? the one accessible by right-clicking viewport name, scrolling down to capture (somewhere in there)? i don't think that'll capture dialog boxes or floating palettes, only whatever rhino has drawn in the viewport.
to capture the whole screen i'd use Alt+PrtScrn (a built-in Windows function). then, if you have photoshop, start a new document, it'll automatically make the new document the size of whatever's on the internal clipboard (which is where windows copies your Alt+PrtScrn screen capture), then paste into the new document. done.
windows paint might also work, haven't tried it. failing any of that there are a handful of freeware utilities (google it) that'll do simple screen captures and more.
