#260495
Several times I have gotten a message at a failed render saying:
Something like object has triangles with no material assigned. It give a
number to the surface. I have spent hrs. trying to isolate those surfaces
only to get the same message on maybe on another surface. This seems
to happen when switching back and forth between Flamingo and Maxwell.
It seems it would not be too difficult to add a "select surfaces without materials button" in the materials manager since it already knows which
one they are. Just like selecting all surfaces with a particular material.
This has happened too many times.

I have only found one case where this will happen from the Rhino plugin: if you have two materials of the same name in the scene (different capitalization doesn't count as a different name). The plugin tries to prevent that, but I found a bug in the code that creates unique names, so it's possible for it to happen. I couldn't have a 'select surfaces without material' command, because to the plugin, they all do have a material - the plugin can have two distinct materials of the same name and it's not a problem, but for Maxwell, they have to be unique.

Also, I don't look here too much, so it would be better to post about the plugin in the Rhino forum.
