Hi JD,

here is another one for you.

Rhino crashed during the work with the material manager. I was just changing roughness values, when the crash happened.

attached I post the log_file. I also got a dump file, do you need this? It is about 11 MB size.

Since this is happening during changes to a material, it theoretically would have also happened if you directly changed the Rhino ('basic') material through the Object Properties window, though I doubt you'd ever be able to do this at the frequency that the plugin does, so your odds of success (that is, failure ) would be low.

it just happened only once, after rebboting the system al went fine so far. it was just for your information. I let you know, if this happens another time.

I´ve got another question, maybe this it not only for the rhino plugin but for all plugins or the material manager (mxed) in general.

I downloaded a couple of materials with have heaps of maps applied to them. So if I want to change the tiling, I have to go through all maps, hopefully not forgetting one.

Is there a way, maybe you have to code that new, to change all maps at once, and not go through every map step by step?

In the Rhino plugin, while adjusting texture params, you can hold down:

CTRL: changes are applied to all maps on the current layer, i.e. BSDF, etc.
CTRL+SHIFT: changes are applied to all maps in the current Material

This applies to Tile X/Y, Offset X/Y, Channel, Invert, RS. Also, when dragging textures from one place to another, holding down CTRL copies all the parameters rather than just the path. I hope that's what you were looking for.

Those errors are coming from inside Rhino -I'll talk to the McNeel guys about it - I don't think I saw any of this kind of thing until moving to SR2. Does Rhino crash after awhile - is there any Rhino crash report? If so, please send it to them, but make sure fill in your name/email and the problem description - McNeel sends me copies of those reports when Maxwell might be involved - but so far I think only 2 or 3 have had any contact information.

ok, I will do it next time it happens again.

Rhino was running for maybe 4 hours or so.


I got some other issues.

not all cameras I have set under "named_views" will be translated to the mxs file, some are missing. the other thing is that I nearly have to reset every camera after reopening my rhino file.

right now I am in a bit of a hustle to finish a job, so I do most things manually, writing down camera coordinates etc.

when I have some time again I get to these problems a bit closer to give you a full report!
