Dear Next Limit.
Please make a proper response to this thread.

(I need to boost my enthusiasm for Maxwell / Rhinoll.
It had a peak around April 25 but is now alarmingly low... :))

First, I want to apologize to everyone for the lack of communication - I am in charge of doing Rhinoll updates for NextLimit. I promise the situation will improve. Due to internal miscommunication (my fault) updated version (available from May 5th) wasn't made available to you. In the meantime a new build is being prepared - that should be available early next week...

This is the list of issues addressed in the last update (Rhinoll 0.8.3)
- MXM materials are saved properly to material library
- Custom Rhino units work properly with lighting and DOF
- Film size default set to 24x24 (generates a correct Rhino view as opposed to 36x24 size)
- Maps not supported by Maxwell any more (Specular, reflection, clip, MXI emitter) are ignored at the export - these map types are no longer supported by Maxwell engine. The final decision whether they will be removed (there is a strong push to switch to MXM materials completely) or whether they will make it back eventually was not made yet so I decided to keep the options in the interface for now. Once the decision is made I will clean this up...

Thank you very much Pavol for the news. It's good to hear that there is someone behind rhinoll plugin.

Where can we find the updated version (5th may) or should we wait for the new one?

I have taken Rhinoll over from internal NL developer so I had to get used to the code there - that slows things down a little...

I suggest to wait for the new version - if everything works out right it should be available to you before the end of this week - I am speeding things up a little :-)

That's good for me...anyway, we are used to wait :D

When you say that you have taken Rhinoll over from internal NL developer, do you mean that you are not from NL team? Are you "freelance"?

Correct. To be more precise I am not NL employee but I am member of NL team :-)

There are things (mostly bug reports) which can be handled even between SDK releases. I believe these are important as well...

It's good news that somebody is working on it. Unfortunately it will only be minor problems that will be solved. I guess that the preview, drag and drop will take a while.

Good luck, Pelias

pelias - welcome to the community. Its great to hear that you are working on this code. The silence from the NL team in the past months concerning Rhinoll has been deafening...

Let us know if there is anything we can do to help.
