I'll fiddle with it and see if I can figure it out! So far I have just been using regular materials and just applying them to my models. This texture mapping and swapping UV's is like Quantum Physics to me!!!Thanks again

if you apply any texture in rhino, surface UV mapping is default.
It is a feature of nurbs, that they have " built in " texture coordinates, generated from how isocurves are distributed along U and V surface directions.

if your surface is revolved, untrimmed has surface mapping and with controlpionts on looking like something like this:

it will be good.

That did it! I have the object rendering right now and will post the finished render, thanks so much for taking the time to help out!!!

And on a related note. Could you or someone else explain how to add a texture map to an object from scratch. The reason I ask is that for my white gold materials I have been using a brushed stainless material I downloaded from the MXM database. But I would like to be able to add a brushed finish to my gold.ior file that I use in Maxwell. The gold .ior file is just a high polish gold finish. Again, thanks to all!

maybe just having turned the texture map in photoshop by 90° would have helped too. but it's a much cheesier way :)
