So many good news! I 'm really happy you find the origin of this bug. I will wait until the new 1.7 plugin come out and enjoy all this new features at the same time. And please don't forget to add the possibility to write a specific comment to a material, I'm waiting this since so long time.
Thank you so much Jeremy for your great support and work.

Sorry if I'm not remembering something I should be, but I didn't understand what you meant by 'specific comment to a material'. Could you clarify?

Part of the improved material editor for maxwell render 1.7 :
-A description field has been added for adding notes and comments to your material.

So if you can add this inside rhino plugin, it will be great.

I thought so - I guess you are not aware that the plugin has always had this ability :) :

Now that MXM files will also have this, they will transfer between when you import or export MXMs from the plugin.

I was sure you understood what i meant so before posting my answer i checked if my current plugin had this feature or not. I right clicked almost everywhere but couldn't find it....well this is because i'm using the 1.6.0 now

Come on 1.7, don't hide yourself more lengthily!

No Hyltom, it is in 1.6.0 - the UI isn't much different from the screenshot. There has never been any version of my plugins which does not have this feature - it's been there since version 1.0.

Just click the top node in the layers tree like in the screenshot - this is the main page for the Material, and you will find the notes there.

Hi Jd,

.. good to hear you found it. 8)

still i have some questions about the functionality of 1.6.8:

-when the bug is not always visible/present is there a way to determent when it is going to matter?

-does this only happen when rendering directly from rhino or also when just writing .mxs and then coop-rendering on network?

-if it happens with all .mxs can they be opened in studio and corrected there (eg. turn motion bluro on/off or so...)

thnx,

:p

Hi polynurb,

I don't know what scenarios it would most affect, since that depends on how the engine renders the scene. It does happen rendering directly from Rhino - however, if you render from Studio, there is no switch you need to turn on/off to correct this; it is apparently because Studio doesn't do animation that it removes the extra camera step. So really, I wouldn't worry about it much, you can do most of your work as normal, but when you render the finished image, you may want to use 'Export to MXST', then click Render from there to start MXCL. I think you would want to do that for network rendering too, since I don't think it modifies the MXS the way that Studio does.
