I'm not so optimistic - no response from the developing team, old bugs everywhere and some options from the old alpha version in the rhinoll interface.
From Vray for Rhino and Rhinoman I know, it need much time to make a good plugin and a daily communication is necessary. I afraid at this road we will not get a final plugin in the next months. :(

Excellent point Micha. From my experience with the Vray for Rhino beta, the developers of the plug-in are a near constant presence on the forum and have been very responsive to the feedback from testers. It is a lot of work to get a plug in working with Rhino. Especially if you want it to be the best it can be.

Although this forum is not meant for the same purposes, the lack of response to customer feedback from whomever is working on Rhinoll is disheartening.

Does Next Limit want the Rhinoll plugin to be the best it can be? If so, they need to make a more concerted effort in communicating with Rhinoll users and at least give us the impression that there is a person dedicated to the task of updating and improving Rhinoll.

Actually, the max plug-in needs a facelift too. If we're not supposed to use the legacy materials, then get them the eff out of the material editor.

Fully agree with you Micha and Frances. I'm also not so optimistic for the future of rhinoll...or they are hiding us a more completed version. Remember these words from NicoR44 : "I can tell you this, Rhinoll has come a long way it will be really great! hang on just a little more". He said this just few days before the release of V1. If compare rhinoll 0.7.2 and the last release, where is the long way?

Alright!, ........my little sailboat of Hope is completely lost at sea, becauase the Winds of Optimism have come to a dead still nothingness.

seriously though, .....Micha, ...strong points from you. I was still holding out that the Rhinoll testers we're holding our interests on an internal level. How would we know with the NDA in tact? We wouldn't, ....so maybe my little boat might still get a gust of wind ......if ony to get me back to shore.

@Hyltom: ....yes I do remember those words :) ....[insert Nico post here] :)

NL has delivered the final (!!!) version now. I don't belive, that there is a more matured internal plugin now. It makes no sense for me to post a buggy final version with unfinished features at the same time. This would be a strange game.
The final version is delivered now, time to give a professional support. The chaotic beta time should be finishednow. Maxwell should be a professional tool, and not a toy for render freaks ( ).

You guys are going to wring your hands into nobby little stubs if you keep this up :)

Development and refinement on Maxwell core and the plug-ins has never stopped; there will be patches issued as soon as it's deemed appropriate. "Appropriate" generally means "as soon as significant refinements are completed." In other words, they're not going to release a build on Monday with a menu fixed, and Tuesday a build with a dialog spelling error fixed, and Wednesday a build with a redraw glitch fixed. They'll wait until a good chunk of issues are addressed and then release a patch for those.

It could be nice, if the developer of rhinoll would post here infos about the current state and the next update. For a professional use is a good support necessary. If an user has a project, than he can not wait a month for a bugfix. For example the environment system. I think, this fix could be done is very less time. What do you think?
Example: an user buy Maxwell 1.0 now and want to do architectural sun studies. But the old bug makes rhinoll useless for him. And here is no developer how says, in two days I will post a bugfix and you can say to your client, the sun study will be ready in a week.
I have thought, Maxwell 1.0 is ready to use with some small new bugs and a good support. Please, try be professional like other software companies. Good examples are McNeel, sitexgraphics or chaosgroup.
Rhinoll was released two weeks befor now. When will come the first bugfixes? Maxwell final and Rhinoll are two weeks old now, I don't speak about monday, tuesday, wednesday ... . I feel you mean may, june, july ... ?

Did you recommend: don't use Maxwell 1.0 for your projects now like you would do it for a beta version? :?

I think you can use Maxwell 1.0, but only from Studio!

I found this really disappointing. I don´t like the stand alone workflow and have actually paid for a plug in.
I totally agree with vcube. Coming here is like landing on an other planet.
This tread has become really long and there is not one develloper som takes a position to this. This is bad. If I should tread my customers like that, I could close my doors. The problem is we have already payed!
You may think what has he to say, he doesn´t post that much but as a matter of fact I´m a customer of NL who is really disapointed.
I´m going to by v-ray and accept that I have spend 500 € for nothing usabel for me.
I hope I´m wrong but I don´t expekt a working plugin within the next month.

I afraid, we don't have an exclusive rhinoll developer. Like in the months befor.
If it would not be a problem, we would get in contact with him. I remember me at summer last year, at this time the rhinoll developer was posting here sometimes.

No developer, no post, no detailed infos. Only a few sweet words without infos.

It almost seems as if we've given up. I have to do a render in the coming days (it's part of our design work, not core business) but Í'm reluctant to use Maxwell. If I have small design changes it becomes a lot of work through Studio. If I start using something else I also might not be coming back to Maxwell for months.

Workaround using the "RESOURCES BROWSER"[…]

render engines and Maxwell

I'm talking about arch-viz and architecture as tho[…]
