In the past I've been able to go into a material and adjust the "Tile x" and "Tile y" to get a material to size correctly when rendering.

Recently when using that technique the material I'm working on appears correct in my rendered viewport but when I go to render the scale reverts back to it's original size. Any idea what I'm missing?

Hard to say without seeing a file. Check for matching Channel numbers (i.e. Maxwell texture Channel = Rhino mapping Channel), and make sure you're actually adjusting the size for all textures in the material - unless you are holding down CTRL+SHIFT, you are only adjusting the parameters for the currently-selected texture.
