I have been lighting my scenes with .mxi gradient textures on emitter planes and every time I close a scene I have to jiggle with the mapping... here is how.

When I work on the file I set my gradients, say I want to use the same set up for a different object. I then reopen the file and import an object into my scene ( 4 rectangular emitters with gradients applied)

I will click on render view just to make sure that the gradients are aligned properly.

They will have changed in appearance but not in their mapping here is what I have to do

The map would be set to "Box" but with a different view than expected
I then toggle "Surface" with no change in the view
Then I re toggle "Box" and get my original desired map

Am I doing something wrong or have I just found a little glitch?

Thanks

Hi Cary, is it possibly linked to this?

Try making sure that the textures for your mxi gradients have Channel numbers which match those of the corresponding mapping in Rhino - it should start to make sense then. Just for now though - there are some small changes coming in the next update which will make the plugin more tolerant of mis-matched 0-1 Channel numbers.

Let me know if that helps...

Hi JD: I think that might have been the problem- I have my .mxi emitter set on channel 1 in Rhino and channel 0 in Maxwell. Thanks!!! Learn something new every day around here :)
