Hello,

I am attempting to install the plugin for an evaluation licensed version of Modo. Attempting to install the plugin via an 'admin' (sudo) user fails at the end complaining it couldn't set module config values. In this case, no files end up populated inside the plugin folder.

Watching the console, I note some strange authentication errors (see below).

I have enabled the root account, and in this case the installer claims success, and the plugin folder inside ~/Library/Application Support/Luxology is populated, but still no maxwell menu appears in the app, and I see most of the same security errors in the log.

This failure has been reproduced on two machines (both using evaluation Modo licenses) with the same results.

Dario sent me a zipped up version of the plugin that I dropped in no problem, and it fired right up.

Can someone else running the latest version of Lion confirm whether or not the plugin installer works for them? So far it failed on two iMacs (including a brand new one) - only thing the machines have in common is that they are on the same domain.

I have tried to install the modo 601 plugin on my macbook pro (10.7.4) with the same problem as EG69. Any ideas on how to get around this....

I am about to test a new version of the installer for Dario@Nextlimit. I can confirm that dropping in a simple zipped up version of the plugin works, and I expect the new installer has fixed whatever security issues they were having.

I'll post shortly after I try the new installer.

Now up to my question:
I'm encountering the same installation issue since I bought into Maxwell during the soccer EL offerings.
Wasn't able to install the modo plugin under OSX Lion and still am not able to install under Mountain Lion.
The installer stops with the following error message:

Customer support send me the link to the modo FAQ section (http://support.nextlimit.com/display/knfaq/Modo), but honestly I'm not convinced that this solution is connected to the installer problem.
So, before digging within the root account and changing privileges, I wanted to ask if someone had successfully tried this "NL-modo-Mac FAQ" solution to install the actual plugin for modo (Mac).
EG69 seems to have tried it, but obviously without success.

As exporting scenes/objects from modo to use it in Studio has its own issues (either broken geometry, or lost material assignments aso) it would be pretty nice to finally find a way to install the plugin.

no, I haven't misread your post.
This version just isn't available through the NL Customer Gateway.
But I just did get help from Márton, so I'm pretty happy right now
