response I got from technical support
"In default mode Maxwell creates these additional channels automatically. This behaviour can be changed with the plugin Preferences window > Workflow tab > Auto add Maxwell packages checkbox.
If this checkbox is off, plugin won’t add the Maxwell properties to the scene items, but the user can add them manually."

My question is where does maxwell store the auto add command. Is it in modo default config or a maxwell config. If I have to burn my modo config will I have to reset turn off auto mode?

Hello,

It is stored in the modo main config file (MODO601.CFG or MODO501.CFG).

If you change this file, you have to turn it off or on again (as you wish).

What I am trying to do is not having to uninstall maxwell for clients who dislike having to respond to the load maxwell obj etc dialog at launch of a file sent to them. I have tried tuning off auto add package in pref workflow window to no avail. I have tried remove objects from selected files and it doesn't work, ( I wish it did even though this would not be the best option as I would have to remember who to do this for and who not).

Am I approaching this incorrectly?

Hello,

On the Maxwell plugin window you can see three buttons "Add" "Remove" "Reset".
Beneath them you have "more..." click on more and choose "Remove Maxwell properties from scene items"

Have you tried this?
