Hello everybody
Does anyone know what kind of Glass Material works best with the ArchiCAD library windows?
As far as I know, the ArchiCAD windows have a material strength... so a physically correct glass (not AGS) should work best I guess.
But when I add a Glass, lets say a high grade made with the wizzard, it renders very noisy even on high sampling levels (like 17 for example).

I also tried AGS... but it's not much better... and not physically correct.

What kind of glass material do you guys use for exterior shots and for interior shots with your ArchiCAD Windows?

If you have a glass material that works fine for you, do you might wanna share it to let me test it?

Thanks a lot

Oliver,

Best thing to do is to make an AGS material in the MXED application and link it in the ArchICAD Material browser to your glass materials. I believe it will essentially allow the light to pass through without calculating the refractions. You will still get reflection on the glass but it will render cleaner/faster. ND is 20 instead of 1.51 in complex glass. So, there might actually be "some" refractive calculation.

Thank you Daniel, sounds good.
One question about this method tough: Wouldn't this give me two reflections?
The ArchiCAD library windows have a strengh, meaning two sides... not just one single plane.

When I use an AGS, I would get two reflections, right?

Hope you know what I mean. Because I thought AGS only works well on planes without a strengh...
