Hey there

I have a few roof tile materials doing funky things... not sure if it's some kind of corruption in the material file itself or if there is some kind of displacement or bump setting I can change to fix it. I havent really got into editing materials myself yet, have been downloading from the Material Resources and hoping for the best.

However I've had this same issue with a few (similar) MXMs and as they look like they're exactly what I'm after, would really like to be able to change them...

this is the mxm link: http://resources.maxwellrender.com/sear ... earch=roof tile&v1=0&v2=0&tipo=1

and here's a link to a screenshot to show you how it's firing: https://www.dropbox.com/s/pocxpnesiqo0y ... 7.png?dl=0

Would appreciate any advice, thanks :)

It's likely due to lack of detail in the geometry, coupled with the displacement settings. Please read this post and let me know if it helps.

Yes brilliant thanks, I've got much more joy out of it if I just add a lot more faces to the area the material is applied to.

I couldn't work out why it seemed to sometimes work and sometimes go AWOL - makes sense now :)
