I've been using the free version of maxwell for a couple of weeks and love it, so a few days ago I decided to purchase a license for the SU standalone plugin to use for work.

However now I cant seem to render grass without getting two error messages. I had no problem rendering grass in the free version, so I wouldn't suspect it to be a hardware issue. I am using Google Sketchup 8. If I try to render grass of any size the yellow error triangle flashes in the corner of the Fire window for a split second, if you're fast enough to click it the two error messages that are listed are

"Cant create procedural grass primitive
Error creating blade primitives
"

It is similar to this users issue http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... 07&t=40821 however I get not result when performing the suggested solution. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software now so that I didn't inadvertently mess anything up in my application files (though I don't suspect I did.)

Here is a .skp file created on my computer with a small plane that should have grass applied to it, yet has errors. https://www.dropbox.com/s/cq85w8c7da6m9 ... 0issue.skp

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There is a different problem. It gets technical, so I won't go into it, but the short story is: if you download and install the Maxwell Render Suite demo, then the grass will work in your plugin. You don't need to license the demo, or change to using the Render Suite version of the plugin; you just need to have some of the files that are installed by Maxwell Render Suite, because the grass extension included with the plugin is looking for them.

So please try that and let me know. There will be an update soon, where this will no longer be the case.

Sweet, worked perfectly :) Thanks for the speedy help, I was getting rather frustrated.

Do I just keep it installed now forever? Just wondering if uninstalling it would create an issue.
What happens after the 30 day trial limit?

Thanks again, huge help!

Just leave it installed until I prevent the need for it with a plugin update. That shouldn't take 30 days, but even if it did, it wouldn't matter whether it were licensed or not, we just need some of its files to be present.
