Hey,

As the subject suggests, why wouldn't I be able to see images (logos, etc) that I have imported into Sketchup in the render? How do I make that happen?

Using Maxwell Render for Sketchup Standalone 2.7.0

Thanks!

To make sure we are on the same page, I would first recommend installing the current version, which is 2.7.10. Theoretically, though, this should not change the behavior.

The first thing to check would be that you have not assigned the textured material to the back of faces, where there is a different material assigned to the front. Depending on the value of Scene Manager > Output > Face Materials, the plugin will either use only front materials, or will use front or back, preferring front over back.

If that is not it, I would look at the possibility of corrupt images being contained in the .skp file; I have seen this before, where SketchUp can show you the image in its viewport, but cannot write it out to disk when the plugin requests that it do so. It has seemed to be more common with larger images, where I have had success using SketchUp's "Edit texture in external texture editor" function, saving a new copy of the image using that editor, and then re-importing the newly-saved texture back into the SketchUp material.

If none of that helps, please email (jeremy at nextlimit dotcom) or upload (using dropbox or similar) a .skp file that demonstrates the behavior, so that I can take a look.

Thanks, I got the file; I had misunderstood what you meant by saying images. This is actually a SketchUp "Image" object -- to render it, you need to use right-click > Explode to turn it into real geometry. I'll see if the plugin can do this for you automatically (behind the scenes, during export) in the future.
