#358329
Hello,

I often do some sort of clay rendering with just one opaque material and a glass material.
For the opaque material I do not assign a SU material. I simply use the standard SU material.
I found that I cannot assign a mxm to the SU standard material in the maxwell plugin panel. It is not even listed.

Did I miss something? Or do I have to assign another SU material to every object?

Thanks for help

P.S.
The 'override' function does not work for me, because of the glass material I'd like to preserve.

That "standard" SketchUp material does not really exist -- it is just SketchUp's way of saying "no material." Not only is it not shown in the plugin material list, it is also not shown in the SketchUp material list, if you are on Windows. This is why you can't edit Maxwell attributes for it in the plugin.

That said, whenever there is no material, Maxwell uses its "default" material; you can set this to be a specific MXM just below the override material in Scene Manager > Output > Materials. When no MXM is specified here, the MXM used is the one named default.mxm, in your Maxwell materials database/mxm files folder; so to globally change how objects with no material assigned in SketchUp render, you can edit that MXM.
