Hi chaps,

*Edit - Thanks for the info on posting images, links included below

I am working through a competition entry for an architect, and I have all my geometry for the housing blocks, pavements and roads etc in Components and Groups within SketchUp [2015] on a windows 8 PC.

The problem is that when I launch Maxwell Fire [3.1.0] I get a funny kind of corrupted Geometry that does not display correctly, as per attached image and its driving me nuts!

Very late last night / early this morning, I tried exploding the whole of the model and it rendered just fine, the problem is that the models and components are actually what makes the model useable and editable.

Anyone had any thing similar to this and how did you solve it?

Incidentally, my workflow had been from an AutoCAD 2015 dwg, traced over in Vectorworks Architect 2015 to create 2d Symbols [components] , with the Vectorworks file exported as a dwg to import into Sketchup for Modelling the traced components, and finally rendered in Maxwell for SketchUp Pro Fire.

Thanks for looking!

For posting images, we upload to some sharing site (flickr, imageshack.us, etc) and link using tags. Regarding the issue, I am not sure what might be happening, other than to say, when switching between the Draft and Production engines, it is generally necessary to re-export the scene to Maxwell FIRE (you can use the yellow "refresh" button in the Maxwell FIRE window). If that is not it, it will be necessary to upload a SKP (using dropbox, onedrive, etc) that shows the behavior, so I can take a look and try to find what's the problem.

As part of an unusual workflow, I actually scaled the models to 1:250 scale, so that I could texture them to look like they were model houses made out of cblocks of wood, maybe this has something to do with it? Also I had to drag the model much nearer to the origin point in SketchUp as I was having display problems.

there are lots of components and groups nested together...

Here is the link to the SketchUp file https://www.dropbox.com/s/2t2fdyqd1lijx ... k.skp?dl=0

All help much appreciated.

Thanks for the model, it shows that we have some problem in the engine, which we'll now proceed to research. For the time being, it appears that the issue no longer manifests, if I scale up the model. So, the workarounds for now are apparently either doing that, or exploding the model, as you indicated above.
